Atlona’s Advanced Automated System Control (AASC) makes meetings simple and easy in three ways.
- Simple for the presenter
- Simple for the installer
- Easy on the pocketbook
Atlona products featuring AASC are the central components in small, automated AV systems. They raise the bar for simplicity and ease of operation. Atlona’s Automatic Display Control (ADC) turns on the display automatically whenever a source is connected. When the source is removed, the display is turned off. With Automatic Input Selection (AIS) for active input selection, third-party control systems can be eliminated. Volume is controlled using the front panel buttons.
AASC Consists of Three Elements, Display Control, Input Selection, and Volume Control
- ADC controls the on and off status of the display. When the video signal is detected, the “on” command is sent to the display in three ways: IP, RS-232, or CEC*. “Off” is similarly managed. IP and RS-232 commands can control projectors and commercial displays. CEC* commands enable many consumer TVs to be used in presentation environments, slashing the total cost of the system and reducing installation time.
- Atlona technology uses the presence of a video signal to automatically select the most recently connected source. Unlike Hot Plug Detect (HPD) based systems, which can be fooled by extenders or adaptors.
- The addition of volume control on the front panel, these systems are very easy to operate.
Ease of Configuration
In addition to AASC, the products are extremely easy to install and set-up. Configuration, maintenance, and updates are performed using Atlona’s AMS IP management system, web GUI, or on-screen displays. Typical set-up options include entering TCP/IP and RS-232 commands, network settings, HDCP status, preferred input resolutions and more. Devices with scalers also include setup adjustments for output resolution, control of brightness, contrast, saturation, hue and sharpness are also provided.
*Consumer Electronics Control (CEC): Atlona does not guarantee the function of CEC with all televisions. We can confirm proper operation with many current Samsung, Panasonic, and Sony TVs. Many manufacturers do not support the CEC “off” command when sent from a source and older TVs use proprietary commands. Atlona only supports those TVs that follow CEC command structure from HDMI 1.2a and support the “off” command when issued by a source. We encourage any dealer to get evaluation products from Atlona prior to designing a system around this control technology or be prepared to use other methods to control their displays if Atlona CEC is not compatible with the installed displays.
