Challenge

Classrooms are undergoing a radical shift to engage students in a more active learning environment versus the traditional lecture hall.  These types of flipped classrooms require flexible, easy-to-use AV equipment enabling students to actively participate and share ideas with instructors.

Complex equipment with complicated control systems discourage use and do not foster collaboration.  AV systems must facilitate the changes in today’s educational system incorporating technology seamlessly and effortlessly.

Solution

The Atlona solution incorporates the Omega Series OME-ST31A and OME-PS62 switchers that install below each student pod and at the instructor station, respectively.  Designed to meet today’s latest technology, this solution supports resolutions up to 4K/60 4:4:4 and includes USB-C, HDBaseT and HDMI inputs.  Each switcher provides dual outputs accommodating a local display via HDMI and another located farther away at the instructor station via HDBaseT.

Our Velocity™ Control System allows the instructor to easily show any of the student’s work to the entire classroom with the touch of a button.  Automatic switching and display control make user operation effortless. You can even connect the OME-PS62 to a touch display for greater interaction with a presenter’s laptop.
