A new version of this product is available as the AT-UHD-CAT-4ED or AT-UHD-CAT-8.

    The Atlona AT-HDCAT-8ED is an HDMI to HDBaseTTM distribution amplifier with two HDMI inputs and eight, extended distance HDBaseT outputs.  It features auto-switching with manual override between the two HDMI inputs and an HDMI output for routing to an AVR or cascading up to eight units.  Each extended distance output transmits AV signals up 328ft (100 m).  The distribution amplifier is redundant-power supply-ready and provides PoCc (Power over Category cable) for compatible Atlona receivers plus audio de-embedding to S/PDIF and balanced captive screw outputs for AVRs and sound reinforcement systems.  The AT-HDCAT-8ED is ideal for digital signage applications, entertainment venues, and residential applications where one or two AV signals must be distributed to multiple, extended distance displays.

FAQ

Why can’t my AT-HDCAT-8ED pass 3D/multi-channel signal?
  • Unless all runs are able to process 3D and/or multi-channel signals, native EDID will be the result (output would be the highest common features)
  • The internal EDID of the unit is set for 2d 1080p signal with 2 channel audio.
  • If a multi-channel 3D system is hooked up to output#1, then you can use the EDID learning function to copy the EDID. (Refer to page 6 on the manual)

    Should I use 568a or 568b Category cable with my AT-HDCAT-8ED? Although it’s not required, we recommend B-termination.
