Challenge
It is hard to resist the appeal of a video wall. From sports bars to building lobbies to stadiums, video walls provide a broad canvas to share, collaborate, and promote. However, people quickly realize that installing and setting up a video wall can be quite challenging.
Keeping all the displays in sync so content doesn’t tear or appear delayed, bezel compensation to make sure content is displayed correctly, and the need to send content across long distances are just some of many considerations to make when installing a video wall.
Video wall processing and control solutions need to address all these concerns along with providing an ease of installation for installers and ease of use for operators.
Solution
Atlona’s OmniStream Networked AV and Velocity control products address these challenges head on. OmniStream’s built-in video wall functionality along with flexible AV over IP capabilities and Velocity’s simple, yet powerful control system come together in the perfect solution.
As an example, the flexibility and power of OmniStream and Velocity proved indispensable in the Lucas Oil Stadium technology update. The large 4×4 video wall with seven additional displays spread throughout the facility required a video processing and control solution that could integrate with their existing network infrastructure. With standard features like dual-stream encoders and Power over Ethernet (PoE), the installation team was able to provide higher stream density and run less cables than other solutions, reducing system complexity and points of failure.
Atlona’s AV over IP solution allowed the system to be deployed more easily while providing a wealth of features and allowing for future expansion.
