The Atlona AT-HD4-V42 is a 4×1 HDMI switcher with mirrored HDMI outputs, two S/PDIF digital audio outputs, auto-switching and a high speed digital performance connection between four sources and two displays or other devices with an HDMI input.  With integrated HDMI Ethernet Channel (HEC) and Audio Return Channel (ARC) over a single HDMI cable, it simplifies system design when connected to displays that utilize those functions. Auto-switch simplifies control so that the last connected source is always displayed.

The Atlona AT-HD4-V42 is a 4×1 HDMI switcher with mirrored HDMI outputs, two S/PDIF digital audio outputs, auto-switching and a high speed digital performance connection between four sources and two displays or other devices with an HDMI input.  With integrated HDMI Ethernet Channel (HEC) and Audio Return Channel (ARC) over a single HDMI cable, it simplifies system design when connected to displays that utilize those functions. Auto-switch simplifies control so that the last connected source is always displayed.

High Definition Video

  • Supports all video resolutions between 480i and 1080p as well as 640×480 up to 1600×1200 for the highest quality video from these sources

Auto-switching

  • Automatically switches to the most recently connected or powered-up source
  • Activated using RS-232 adjustment

ARC – Audio Return Channel

  • Audio is returned from the remote display’s internal tuner or from any device plugged into it via HDMI to the S/PDIF audio output
  • Allows ARC-enabled TVs, such as smart TVs, to transmit audio back to an AV receiver through the same HDMI cable used to connect the input

3D

  • Full 3D pass through capabilities. Get clear 3D video without any signal degradation

Bi-directional HDMI Ethernet Channel

  • Use a single connection from your router to pass internet by HDMI cable to all your HEC capable devices

The unit will not do ARC? ARC is a feature that has to be activated by pushing the desired input button 2 times or you can send a command “x0AVx1” ending with a carriage return via RS-232.
  • Note: On AT-HD4-V42 ARC is only available on output #1.
  • Note: Unit needs to be running on firmware version VS91GA or higher.
    		•
    Unit is not auto-switching? With the latest firmware update (VS91GA or higher) the auto switching feature is added, but must be activated via RS-232 command. To turn on auto switching send command “AUTOON” ending with a carriage return; to turn off auto switching send command “AUTOOFF” ending with a carriage return.
  • Note: To find what firmware is on the unit connect via RS-232 and send command “VER” ending with a carriage return and the feedback would be the firmware version.

    What is the difference between the 3 different EDID modes?
    • INT: Internal EDID of the AT-HD4-V41/V42
    • EXT: External EDID reads the EDID of the display that is connected to output #1
    • Copy: EDID learn feature that can be done from any output.
        • When using extenders or long HDMI cables, it is recommended to do an EDID learn.
    How do I get the unit into ISP mode for a firmware update? With the device unplugged from the wall, hold down the power button and apply power. As soon as the lights turn off release the power button.
    Can you de-embed audio from the S/PDIF out?
    • The latest firmware (VS91GA or later) for the AT-HD4-V41/V42 allows the unit to de-embed audio from the S/PDIF.
        • Note: To find what firmware is on the unit connect via RS-232 and send command “VER” ending with a carriage return and the feedback would be the firmware version.
