OmniStream Dual-Channel Networked AV Decoder
The Atlona OmniStream™ 122 (AT-OMNI-122) is a networked AV decoder with two independent channels of decoding for two OmniStream-encoded video streams up to 4K/UHD, as well as embedded audio and RS-232 control. OmniStream is designed for distributing AV over Gigabit Ethernet in enterprises and other large-scale installations. The OmniStream 122 features SMPTE VC-2 visually lossless compression with extremely low, sub-frame latency, as well as AES-128 encryption and SMPTE 2042 forward error correction. For professional AV integration, it includes two HDMI outputs, 4K/UHD scaling for each output with 4:4:4 processing, aspect ratio control, multi-channel PCM audio downmixing, audio embedding and de-embedding, and more. This dual-channel decoder is housed in a half rack width enclosure and is ideal for high-density installations. With two Ethernet ports, the OmniStream 122 can also be integrated with duplicate AV streams delivered over two networks by the OmniStream 112 dual-channel encoder, for full system redundancy in mission-critical applications.
OmniStream was engineered from the ground up at Atlona to deliver the performance and dependability of traditional AV distribution, with the virtually unlimited scalability and cost efficiency of integrating over data networks. It addresses the many challenges AV and IT integrators encounter with implementing networked AV systems, while delivering immediate and long-term ROI to end users in enterprises and other organizations.
Networked AV Redundancy
The OmniStream 122 can provide networked AV system redundancy in conjunction with an OmniStream 112 dual-channel AV encoder. It can be configured to receive two simultaneous encoded streams delivered over primary and redundant networks by the OmniStream 112. The OmniStream 122 can detect the loss of a physical network connection, or disruption in an AV stream, and then automatically switch over to the secondary network for continuous system operation.
Designed for Pro AV Integration
The OmniStream 122 includes several features for optimizing integration and enhancing professional AV presentations. EDID and HDCP management features ensure reliable, consistent system operation and compatibility with displays and other destination devices. The integrated 4K/UHD scaler can be automatically set to the preferred resolution specified in a display’s EDID. Aspect ratio controls are available to specify the presentation viewing format as desired by the end user. Additionally, OmniStream offers the option to overlay a logo image (PNG with transparent background) onto an AV presentation for corporate or institutional branding. A full-screen image can also be displayed, as a backup in an event of an interruption in an AV stream, or to display information between presentations.
For audio integration, the OmniStream 122 can receive two stereo or multi-channel audio streams over the network. Multi-channel downmixing is available for 5.1 or 7.1-channel PCM audio. Audio can be embedded onto either or both HDMI outputs, and also delivered through the two-channel analog audio outputs. Additionally, the OmniStream 122 includes two analog two-channel inputs for embedding audio onto the HDMI outputs. The audio inputs and outputs can be used for integration into a Dante audio system through the OmniStream 232 networked audio interface.
The OmniStream 122 is ideal for use in:
- Enterprises and other large organizations
- Corporate and university campuses with the need to distribute AV between buildings
- Applications in which any AV content or resource can be shared anywhere in the system
Configured and Managed by AMS
OmniStream is configured, controlled, and managed using the Atlona Management System (AMS), a powerful network software platform for IP-controllable Atlona products. AMS is essential for accessing all capabilities of the OmniStream encoders and decoders, including AV and control routing between sources and destinations, configuring OmniStream dual-channel encoders and decoders for independent or redundant streams, monitoring the status of OmniStream endpoint devices, powering displays on or off through automatic display control, and more. AMS is also used for Dante network configuration with the OmniStream 232 networked audio interface.
